      JAMES KILPATRICK
      James Kilpatrick, a native and well know former resident of this city and of late a prominent resident and political worker in the borough of Vandling died last evening about 5:30 o'clock at his home in the latter place. about a month ago the deceased suffered a severe attack of stomach trouble and for a time was in a critical condition. He rallied subsequently and his recovery was looked for. About a week ago, however, he suffered a relapse and since that time had been almost constantly at the point of death.
      The deceased was a son of the late James Kilpatrick and was born in this city sixty four years ago. When a boy he went with his parents to the vicinity of Waymart where he resided for many years. He was employed on the old Gravity railroad. About fifteen years ago Mr. Kilpatrick removed to Vandling, where he became weighmaster at the Delaware & Hudson Clinton colliery, a position he held till the time of his death.
      During his residence in Vandling Mr. Kilpatrick became one of the most prominent citizens of the borough. A staunch Democrat, he took an active part in politics and held several offices in the borough government. He was a man of strict integrity and of genial disposition and his death is keenly regretted by a wide circle of acquaintances.
      The deceased is survived by his wife, five sons, Richard, James, Joseph and Eugene, of Vandling; one brother, Richard Kilpatrick, of this city and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hines of Scranton, Miss Margaret Kilpatrick of Taylor, Miss Bridget Kilpatrick, of Scranton. His funeral will take place Monday morning. The cortege will leave his late home at 8:30 o'clock and proceed to St. Agnes church, Forest City, where at nine o'clock a requiem mass will be celebrated, after which the body will be conveyed to this city for internment in St. Rose cemetery.

     She married James Kilpatrick.⁴ Ellen died at age at an unknown age . Ellen was born in 1853, at County Mayo, Ireland. She resided Main Street, at Vandling, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18421, in 1922.⁵

     Eugene Thomas McGuinness is the son of Edward P. McGuinness and Mary Ann Smith. He married Julie Ann Casey on 22 August 1959 at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407.^2,1

     Joan Marie McGuinness is the daughter of Eugene Thomas McGuinness and Julie Ann Casey. She married Paul K. Ibsen on 26 October 1986 at Sacred Heart Church at Newark, New Jersey 07100.^1,2

     Paul K. Ibsen is the son of Ivar Ibsen and Helen Swanson. He married Joan Marie McGuinness on 26 October 1986 at Sacred Heart Church at Newark, New Jersey 07100.^1,2

     He married Mary Ann Smith.³ Edward was born on 17 July 1891, at Newark, New Jersey 07100. He was the son of Richard M. McGuinness and Margaret A. Blewitt. Edward died on 1 November 1949 at Newark, New Jersey 07100, at age 58.

     She married Edward P. McGuinness.³ Mary was born on 22 October 1890, at Newark, New Jersey 07100. Mary died on 16 August 1955 at Newark, New Jersey 07100, at age 64.

     Lorriane Burke is the daughter of William Burke and Mildred Casey. She married Albert James Callejas on 19 April 1954 at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.^2,1

     His body was interred, at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403. Albert was born on 13 February 1932.² He was the son of Albert F. Callejas and Antoinette "Tina" Rapoch. He married Lorriane Burke on 19 April 1954 at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.^3,1 Albert died on 12 September 1985 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA 18505, at age 53. He died at Mercy Hospital after suffering a stroke..

Ann was born on 5 August 1930, at Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA 18505. She was the daughter of William Burke and Mildred Casey. She married Leonard E. Hosie on 21 June 1952 at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.^3,1,2 Ann died on 16 June 1983 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA 18505, at age 52.

     Leonard E. Hosie is the son of Phillip Hosie and Ellen Gildea. He married Ann Burke on 21 June 1952 at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.^3,1,2

      Vincent Joseph Walker lived at 41 N. Grange Ave., Collegeville, PA, 19426-3136. Vincent was born on 6 August 1930, at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. He was the son of Vincent Thomas Walker and Florence Rita Moran. He married Ruth J. Sibley on 19 June 1954 at Norwood, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19074.^2,1 He resided, at Collegeville, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania 19468, in 1992. Vincent attended the First Casey Family Reunion, held on 26 September 1992 at Phillips Manor, at Cortez, Jefferson Township, Lackwanna County, Pennsylvania.³ Vincent died at St. Gabriel's Hospital(! On 1 May 2000 at Norwood, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19074, at age 69.

Florence was born on 26 December 1904, at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. She was the daughter of Michael F. Moran and Mary Campbell. She married Vincent Thomas Walker on 7 October 1924 at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407.² Florence died on 31 May 1970 at Ridley Park, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19078, at age 65.

     Paul Michael Walker is the son of Vincent Thomas Walker and Florence Rita Moran. He married Barbara Magyarik on 25 May 1957 at Milmont Park, Pennsylvania 19033.^3,1,2

     Gerard Ambrose Walker is the son of Vincent Thomas Walker and Florence Rita Moran. He married Joanne McGinnis on 22 July 1961 at Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19013.^3,2

     Joanne McGinnis is the daughter of Joseph R. McGinnis and Elizabeth (??) McGinnis. She married Gerard Ambrose Walker on 22 July 1961 at Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19013.^3,2

     Barbara Magyarik is the daughter of John Magyarik and Ethel (??) Magyarik. She married Paul Michael Walker on 25 May 1957 at Milmont Park, Pennsylvania 19033.^2,1,3

     Ruth J. Sibley is the daughter of Calvin L. Sibley and Grace J. Stevenson. She married Vincent Joseph Walker on 19 June 1954 at Norwood, Delaware County, Pennsylvania 19074.^2,1

     James J. Hyland, a resident of White Haven Center, White Haven, died Saturday in Hazleton General Hospital after an illness.
     Born in Mayfield, son of the late Joseph and Agnes Allabough Hyland, he was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Jermyn.
     Surviving are a brother, Joseph, Boone, N.C; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Paul.
     The funeral will be Tuesday from the Battenberg Funeral Home, 363 Washington Ave., Jermyn, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Mary Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield.
     Friends may call Monday, 7 to 9 p.m.²

The following note appeared in the Janaury 17, 1890 edition of the Carbondale Leader: "An infant child of John Casey, of the Fourth ward, was buried yesterday."³

     The Mulroy Papers stated that he died at one year of age. The cause was unknown.
