Casey and Eugene Vincent Kilpatrick's wedding on 7 February 1922 at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. MISS ANNA CASEY MARRIED TO FOREST CITY YOUNG MAN TODAY
Carbondale, Feb. 7. - St. Rose church this morning at 8:45 o'clock was the scene of a pretty nuptial event when Miss Anna Casey, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Casey, of Gordon avenue, became the bride of Eugene Kilpatrick, a son of Mrs. Ellen Kilpatrick, of Main street, Forest City. The ceremony was performed by the Rt. Rev. Monsignore T.F. Coffey, who also solemnized the nuptial mass which followed. A large number of relatives and friends of the young people attended the ceremony, which was pretty in all its arrangement.
As the bridal party entered the church, Miss Lydia Loftus played the wedding march from Lohengrin. During the mass, Miss Betty Ryan sang the "Ave Maria." At the communion she said "O Lord I Am Not Worthy," and at the conclusion she sang "I Love You Truly." the bride was beautifully attired in a gown of blue brocaded velvet with equirrel trimmings. She wore a large picture hat of silver lace and carried an arm bouquet of lilies of the valley, tied with silver ribbon.
Her maid, Miss Cathleen Cobb, a cousin, made a charming appearance in a gown of brown panne velvet with a picture hat to match. She carried an arm bouquet of sunburst roses. Joseph Kilpatrick, brother of the groom, acted as best man.
The bride is one of the city's most popular young women. She is a graduate of the Carbondale High school, Stroudsburg State Normal and for some years has been a member of the teaching corps of Carbondale township schools. The groom is also a popular young man of the upper valley and well known here.
After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the Casey, Scranton, where they ahd breakfast. Later Mr. and Mrs. Kilpatrick left on a wedding trip to New York and Buffalo. They will reside in a newly furnished home on Main street, Vandling. Their many friends will join in extending to them heartiest felicitations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.1
