     "John Casey married Anna Joyce in Carbondale in 1890, they were the parents of six children, Edward, Leonard, Joseph, Gerald, Anna, Clara.
     John Casey died when Edward was 12 years old and two years later Anna Casey died, the cause of death was listed as over work.
     The six children were taken care of by Aunt Margaret Joyce and Aunt Katie Joyce, both women gave up their careers to raise this big family. Aunt Katie was going to be a nun but on the advice of her pastor, she decided to stay home and take care of the children. Aunt Margaret was the principle in Carbondale Township school and was going to be married to George Cuff but she also decided to stay teaching and support the family. On could not be married in those days and stay working as a teacher. Both Aunt Katie and Aunt Margaret lived to 95 years and helped whenever they could taking care of grand nieces and nephews. Their sister Nellie Joyce married Paul Casey, she lived near and also helped with the children, also Aunt Sarah McCann.
     Edward Casey married Lauretta A. Wright on Wednesday, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, Nov. 26, 1919, on Thanksgiving Eve. They resided in Oneonta, New York, John Donald and Loretta were born in 1920 and 1922, Edward lost his job in Oneonta, they moved into Laura's Dad's home on Chestnut, Street where Edward Jr and Kenneth were born, also the triplets who died shortly after birth. The family then moved to cherry street address, and then to Pine Street and last to 401 Church Street where they operated a family grocery business and Edward was an employee of D&H railroad, until he retired.
     Edward died Dec 10, 1959 in Temple Hospital, Philadelphia, Lauretta died on January 3, 1982 at home, Archbald, PA.
     Leonard married "Diel," they resided in Syracuse, and were the parents of two sons, John and Thomas.
     Joseph married Mary Malia in Archbald. They resided in Childs, PA and were the parents of eight children, Paul, Joseph, Rosemary, Jean, Julie, Anne, Catherine and Aloysius. Joseph died when he was 40 years old.
     Gearld married Mildred Madigan, Susquehanna, and were the parents of six children, Gerald, Anne, John, Bobby, Mildred and Kate.
     Anna married Eugene Kilpatrick, Vandling, they moved to Syracuse and they were the parents of six children, Vincent, Anna Rose, Mary, Donald, Eugene, Eileen.
     Clara died shortly after birth."1 John was born on 10 December 1860, at 120 Gordon Avenue at Carbondale, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania 18407.2 He was the son of Thomas Casey and Ann Mulroy. He was baptized on 14 December 1860, at at St. Rose of Lima Church, at Carbondale, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania 18407, in the Roman Catholic faith.2 He married Annie Joyce on 26 October 1887 at St. Rose of Lima Church at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. The following article appeared in the Wednesday, October 26, 1887 edition of the Carbondale Leader:

CASEY-JOYCE

     This afternoon at 4 o'clock John Casey and Miss Annie Joyce, both of this city, were married at St. Rose church by Rev. John McGrath. The groomsman was Michael Casey, brother of the groom, and Miss Kate Higgins was bridesmaid.3
.4,5,6 He became Edward Charles Casey's godparent at his baptism on 21 January 1894 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407.7 John died on 20 February 1900 at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407, at age 39. The following articles appeared in the Carbondale Leader, Tuesday, February 20, 1900:


THREE ARE TAKEN AWAY. Death of J. J. Casey of the South Side - . . .
     One of the younger citizens of the south side, John J. Casey, aged thirty-five years was claimed by the grim reaper at eight o'clock this morning after an illness of a month's duration. Death was due to pulmonary trouble, from which deceased had been suffering for some time past, although his ailment had not been considered of a serious nature until of late.
     Deceased was born in this city and had always lived here. He had taken an active interest in local affairs and was a prominent member of Carbondale Conclave of Heptasophs. In his family circle he found his greatest pleasure, however, and he was a man who made a friend of everyone with whom he had any dealings.
     A wife and five children survive; also three sisters and four brothers. The sisters are Miss Margaret Casey. Mrs. Joseph Walker and Mrs. Bernard Crane. The brothers are, Edward and Martin of this city; James of Olyphant, and Thomas of Hyde Park.
     The funeral announcement will be made in tomorrow's paper."8


Carbondale Leader, Wednesday, February 21, 1900:

FUNERAL NOTICE
     The funeral of the late John Casey will leave the house tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. Rose cemetery."9
.10,11 His funeral was held on 22 February 1900, at at St. Rose of Lima, at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. The funeral left the family home on Gordon Avenue, and traveled to St. Rose of Lima Church where the funeral was held..12 His body was interred on 22 February 1900, at St. Rose Cemetery at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407. The following article appeared in the Carbondale Leader, Friday, February 23, 1900:

     "THREE FUNERALS. The late Henry Gramer, J. J. Casey and Little Helen Barnes Interred . . . J. J. CASEY.
     The funeral of the late John J. Casey was held yesterday morning, a large concourse of friends assembling to pay a final mark of esteem to the deceased. Rev. George Dixon officiated at a mass of requiem said at St. Rose church and afterwards delivered a funeral sermon, choosing for his text the following: "For the Son of Man has taken his soul out of iniquity." His eulogy of the life of the departed was an eloquent one. The remains were interred in St. Rose cemetery.13".12

     Edward Aloyius Casey was described as 150 pounds, 5 feet, 10 inches, brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin, age 32. His body was interred, at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403. Edward was employed at as a Train Mechanic. From Carbondale. Live in Archbald, PA at time of death. Sgt. 302 Repair Unit MTC, WWI. Retired from D&H Roundhouse in Carbondale, PA, Locomotive Mechanic. Edward was born on 2 December 1890, at in Carbondale Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407.1,2 He was the son of John J. Casey and Annie Joyce. He was baptized on 4 December 1890, at at St. Rose of Lima, at Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407, in the Roman Catholic faith.1 Edward attended six years of grammar school at in Carbondale Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407.2 In Annie Joyce's will on 22 January 1908 at in Carbondale Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18407, Edward was named as an heir. By January 1908 Annie's health steadily declined and on January 22, she wrote the following will:

     I Annie Casey of the Township of Carbondale County of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania widow being of Sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void any and all former wills heretofore by me at anytime made.
     First: direct and will that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid my executrix herein after named as soon after my decease as shall by her be found convenient.
     Second: I give, devise, and bequeath to my daughter Anna two-fifths of all my estate, real, personal and mixed where ever situate or found to her and her heirs or assigns forever.
     Third: I give devise and bequeath to my sons Edward, Joseph, Leonard and Gerald the remaining three fifths of all my estate share and share alike to have and to hold the same in common to them their heirs and assigns forever.
     Fourth I give and bequeath to Very Rev. Monsignor Coffey the sum of sixty dollars I desire that he should use this as follows fifty dollars for masses for the repose of the souls of my deceased husband John Casey, my brother Patrick Joyce, and for my own soul ten dollars for a mass for my mother and father on their deaths.
     Fifth: I appoint my beloved sister Katie Joyce executrix of this my last will and testament.
     In witness whereof I Annie Casey the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of January AD 1908.

He worked for this company for a year before he quit.2.2 Edward was employed at Polar Manufacturing Company as a salesman at Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA 18505, in 1922. He worked here for a year before quitting.2.2 He resided 193 Chestnut Street, at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403, in June 1923.2 Edward was employed at Jermyn Colliery, Hudson Coal Co. as a Laborer 3rd Class at Jermyn, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18433, on 18 June 1923. He had worked in the mines for the Hudson Coal Company for four years before working at the Jermyn Colliery.2.2 Edward died on 10 December 1959 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania 19092, at age 69.5 His body was interred on 14 December 1959, at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.5 His funeral was held on 14 December 1959, at at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, at Archbald, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania 18403.      The funeral of Edward A. Casey, 401 Church St., Archbald, a Carbondale native, was held yesterday form the funeral home at 505 Gilmartin St., Archbald, with mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, by the Rev. Vincent Kilpatrick, Syracuse, N.Y. a nephew.
     The Rev. Arthur McAndrews, Moscow, was deacon and the Rev. Joseph A. Fadden, subdeacon.
     Pallbearers were: John Morrow, George Simon, Howard Dougher, Joseph Durkin, Frank Kearney and John Jones.
     Members of the honor guard, Ambrose Revels Post, American Legion, conducted military rites. Comprising the guard, in charge of Cmdr. Gerald Barrett, were: Leo Mahon, Samuel Curto, Gerald Kelly, Joseph O'Rourke, Edward Keough and Herbert Histead. Buglers were John Keating and Victory Olick. Interment, parish cemetery.5

     Mrs. Laura A. Casey, 401 Church St., Archbald, died Sunday at home following an illness. Her husband Edward A., died in 1959.
     Born in Archbald, daughter of the late James and Bridget Malarkey Wright, she was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the auxiliary to Ambrose Revels Post 328, American Legion, Archbald.
     Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Loretta O'Neill, Jermyn; three sons, Dr. John D., Philadelphia, Edward J. and Kenneth J., both of Archbald; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Walsh and Mrs. Theresa Spillane, Archbald, and Mrs. Anna Jones, Washington, D.C; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
     The funeral will be Wednesday form Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment, parish cemetery.

     Mr. and Mrs. John P. Jones, 36 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Marcella Rita Jones, to Edward Joseph Casey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Casey, 401 Church St., Archbald, in a ceremony Aug. 4 in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. The Rev. Vincent Kilpatrick, Binghamton, N.Y., cousin of the bridegroom, officiated.
     Mrs. Frank Casey was organist, and John Walsh, uncle of the bridegroom, vocalist. White gladioli decorated the altar with bows at the pews.
     The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white nylon marquisette gown over satin with nylon yoke, fitted bodice, buttoned to the waist, long tapering sleeves and full skirt featuring double peplum of marquisette and lace and ending in a court train. Her double tiered fingertip veil of illusion fell form a crown of seed pearls. She carried white roses with an orchid center and crystal rosaries, a gift of the bridegroom.
     Mrs. Thomas O'neill, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She woer a Nile green marquisette and lace gown with matching lace and floral band in her hair. She carried American Beauty roses and wore a rhinestone necklace, gift of the bride.
     Shirely Ann Jones, sister of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a powder blue satin and lace gown with hoop skirt caught with lace and bows. She wore a coronet of pink roses and baby breath in her hair and carried a swing bouquet of pink roses and baby breath with blue satin streamers.
     Robert Jones, brother of the bride, was best man. John A. Wright ushered.
     Dinner was served at the home of the bride with a reception at Casey's Hall, Jermyn.
     The bride is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and is employed by Simpson Dress Co. The bridegroom, a graduate of St. Patrick's high School, Olyphant, and the University of Scranton, is engaged in the restaurant business in Jermyn.
     When the couple left for a wedding trip to Buffalo, N.Y., and Niagara Falls, the bride wore a navy blue suit with red and white accessories and an orchid corsage. They will reside at the rear of 401 Church Sr., Archbald.

     Shirely Ann Jones, sister of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a powder blue satin and lace gown with hoop skirt caught with lace and bows. She wore a coronet of pink roses and baby breath in her hair and carried a swing bouquet of pink roses and baby breath with blue satin streamers.
     Robert Jones, brother of the bride, was best man. John A. Wright ushered.
     Dinner was served at the home of the bride with a reception at Casey's Hall, Jermyn.
     The bride is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and is employed by Simpson Dress Co. The bridegroom, a graduate of St. Patrick's high School, Olyphant, and the University of Scranton, is engaged in the restaurant business in Jermyn.
     When the couple left for a wedding trip to Buffalo, N.Y., and Niagara Falls, the bride wore a navy blue suit with red and white accessories and an orchid corsage. They will reside at the rear of 401 Church Sr., Archbald.

      Rev. Edward J. Casey, brother of the bride, performed the wedding ceremony. Msgr. Kenneth J. Horan of St. James Parish officiated at the nuptial mass. The candlelight ceremony was performed before an altar adorned with gold vases filled with peach and ivory fugi mums enhanced with baby breath.
      Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a candlelight ivory stain gown with a fitted bodice, sabrina neckline accented with a lace sequined applique, long shirred sleeves, a V-back, a full skirt, V-waist and a back bow with a bustle. The bride wore her mother's headpiece, a crown of ivory seed pearls holding a cathedral veil sprinkled with iridescent sequins, and carried a bouquet of ivory and peach roses, baby breath, lace na dmini ivy, which was fashioned by the bride.
      Karen Brady, Archbald, was matron of honor for her sister wearing a ballerina length gown of peach sherbet satin with a shirred bodice, a sweetheart neckline, short puffed sleeves, a full skirt and a back bow bustle. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, lace, baby breath and ficus, made by the bride, and wore a headpiece of peach roses, baby breath and lace.
      Gowned identically was the bridesmaid, Marie Petronchak, Wysox, sister of the bridegroom, who also served as a soloist.
      Joseph Walsh, Jessup, was best man. John Ryczak, Archbald, ushered.
      A dinner immediately followed at Runco's Lounge, Dunmore.
      The bride is employed as the occupational health nurse at Weston Controls, Archbald.
      The bridegroom is employed as a police officer for the Borough of Archbald.

     Sacred heart of Mary Church, Jermyn, was the setting at 2 p.m. Saturday for the wedding of Miss Michele Sweder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sweder, 513 Jefferson Ave., to Patrick Casey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Casey, rear 401 Church St., Archbald.
     Rev. Eugene R. Carr, assisted by Edward Casey Jr., brother of the groom, performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with arrangements of white gladiola and shades of blue combined through carnatins in matching pari of altar vases.
     Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white original organza formal gown featuring a Queen Anne neckline, slim straight sleeves and a molded bodice embellished with pearls and Venise lace. The dropped waist was designed above a full skrit, cathedral train edged in lace and appliqued. She wore a small bridal hat featuring a pearled Venise appliqued crown side, apple blossoms and a samll brim accented with a pouf and double illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white silk roses and stephanotis highlighted with light blue star flowers and camellia foliage.
     Brenda Reeves, Mayfield, was maid of honor. She wore a formal gown of royal blue moire taffeta with light blue moire trim featuring a wrap bodice with bow and streamers at the side waist, short bow knot sleeves and softly gathered skirt. She also wore a royal blue derby accented by rows of pearls at the crown and a pearl dotted pouf and streamers of French illusion. She carried a loose airy cascade of predominately shades of blue highlighted with baby breath and stephanotis.
     Attired simmilarly to the honor attendant but in gowns of light blue with a royal blue sash were bridesmaids Maura, Renae, and Janine Sweder, sisters of the bride.
     Keith Trinovitch, Archbald, was best man. Ushers were Michael Casey, brother of the bridegroom; Robert Trently, Edgewood, Md., and Rick Williams, Fairview Village.
     An evening reception was held at Lakeview Bounge, RD Jermyn.
     The bride is a graduate of Lakeland High School and earned a degree in communications and design form Kutztown University. She is employed by Centre Business Products Inc., Camp Hill.
     The bridegroom is a graduate of Valley View High School; received an assoiciate degree in business adminstration from Penn State University; and an associate degree in automotive and internal combustion technology from Johnson School of Technology. He is employed by American LaFrance, Dunmore.

     Given in marrige by her father, the bride was attired in a formal length gown of white satin styled with a fitted bodice featuring a high neckline, long sleeves with wedding point cuffs adorned with Alencon lace and pearls, a long back bodice featuring a row of satin covered buttons and a full circular skirt flowing into a chapel length train adorned with lace appliques and completely bordered with satin hem lace. Her matching headpiece was a floral wreath of silk roses and pearl-edged leaves accented with pearl tendrils supporting a double tier fingertip veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and baby's breath.
     Joyce Casey, Archbald, was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a turquoise fantanza tea length dress styled with princess sleeves on the open neckline, an asymmetrically cut crystal pleated elongated bodice accented with a self-rose and full circularskirting. She wore a floral wreath of silk pastel flowers entwined with pearl clusters and accented with pearl tendrils and she carried a matching bouquet of carnations and baby's breath.
     Attired similarly to the nonor attendant in peach, powder blue, pink and orchid were bridesmaids Cathy Murphy, Mineral, Va., sister of the bridegroom; Ann Marie Vicki, Jessup; Linda Culp, Allentown, and Linda Tolerico, Archbald. Their matching hair clusters of silk flowers and pearl tendrils and bouquets of carnations and baby's breath complemented their dresses.
     Ann Marie Casey, Archbald, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Sho wore a tea length dress of yellow fantanza similar to the other attendants. She carried a basket of yellow flowers and wore a floral wreath of yellow silk flowers and pearl clusters.
     Dr. John Brady, Kingston, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Thomas Murphy, Mineral, Va., brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Atty. Edward Hogan, Chreey Hill, N.J; Patrick Smith, Forty Fort, and Matthew Kelly, Forty Fort.

The bride wore her mother's headpiece, a crown of ivory seed pearls holding a cathedral veil sprinkled with iridescent sequins, and carried a bouquet of ivory and peach roses, baby breath, lace na dmini ivy, which was fashioned by the bride.
      Karen Brady, Archbald, was matron of honor for her sister wearing a ballerina length gown of peach sherbet satin with a shirred bodice, a sweetheart neckline, short puffed sleeves, a full skirt and a back bow bustle. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, lace, baby breath and ficus, made by the bride, and wore a headpiece of peach roses, baby breath and lace.
      Gowned identically was the bridesmaid, Marie Petronchak, Wysox, sister of the bridegroom, who also served as a soloist.
      Joseph Walsh, Jessup, was best man. John Ryczak, Archbald, ushered.
      A dinner immediately followed at Runco's Lounge, Dunmore.
      The bride is employed as the occupational health nurse at Weston Controls, Archbald.
      The bridegroom is employed as a police officer for the Borough of Archbald.
      Following a Caribbean cruise, the couple will reside in Eynon.2.3,4

MICHELE SWEDER WED TO PATRICK CASEY

     Sacred heart of Mary Church, Jermyn, was the setting at 2 p.m. Saturday for the wedding of Miss Michele Sweder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sweder, 513 Jefferson Ave., to Patrick Casey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Casey, rear 401 Church St., Archbald.
     Rev. Eugene R. Carr, assisted by Edward Casey Jr., brother of the groom, performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with arrangements of white gladiola and shades of blue combined through carnatins in matching pari of altar vases.
     Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white original organza formal gown featuring a Queen Anne neckline, slim straight sleeves and a molded bodice embellished with pearls and Venise lace. The dropped waist was designed above a full skrit, cathedral train edged in lace and appliqued. She wore a small bridal hat featuring a pearled Venise appliqued crown side, apple blossoms and a samll brim accented with a pouf and double illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white silk roses and stephanotis highlighted with light blue star flowers and camellia foliage.
     Brenda Reeves, Mayfield, was maid of honor. She wore a formal gown of royal blue moire taffeta with light blue moire trim featuring a wrap bodice with bow and streamers at the side waist, short bow knot sleeves and softly gathered skirt. She also wore a royal blue derby accented by rows of pearls at the crown and a pearl dotted pouf and streamers of French illusion. She carried a loose airy cascade of predominately shades of blue highlighted with baby breath and stephanotis.
     Attired simmilarly to the honor attendant but in gowns of light blue with a royal blue sash were bridesmaids Maura, Renae, and Janine Sweder, sisters of the bride.
     Keith Trinovitch, Archbald, was best man. Ushers were Michael Casey, brother of the bridegroom; Robert Trently, Edgewood, Md., and Rick Williams, Fairview Village.
     An evening reception was held at Lakeview Bounge, RD Jermyn.
     The bride is a graduate of Lakeland High School and earned a degree in communications and design form Kutztown University. She is employed by Centre Business Products Inc., Camp Hill.
     The bridegroom is a graduate of Valley View High School; received an assoiciate degree in business adminstration from Penn State University; and an associate degree in automotive and internal combustion technology from Johnson School of Technology. He is employed by American LaFrance, Dunmore.
     Following a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Olyphant.

     Miss Karen Christine Casey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Casey, rear 401 Church St., Archbald, became the bride of Michael Anthony Brady, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Brady, 116 Owen St., Swoyersville, on Saturday in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald.
     Rev. Gerard Gannon, pastor, assisted by Edward Casey, brother of the bride, performed the 2 p.m. ceremony before an altar adorned with baskets of carnatins in the colors of the wedding party and baby's breath. White bows marked the pews.
     Given in marrige by her father, the bride was attired in a formal length gown of white satin styled with a fitted bodice featuring a high neckline, long sleeves with wedding point cuffs adorned with Alencon lace and pearls, a long back bodice featuring a row of satin covered buttons and a full circular skirt flowing into a chapel length train adorned with lace appliques and completely bordered with satin hem lace. Her matching headpiece was a floral wreath of silk roses and pearl-edged leaves accented with pearl tendrils supporting a double tier fingertip veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and baby's breath.
     Joyce Casey, Archbald, was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a turquoise fantanza tea length dress styled with princess sleeves on the open neckline, an asymmetrically cut crystal pleated elongated bodice accented with a self-rose and full circularskirting. She wore a floral wreath of silk pastel flowers entwined with pearl clusters and accented with pearl tendrils and she carried a matching bouquet of carnations and baby's breath.
     Attired similarly to the nonor attendant in peach, powder blue, pink and orchid were bridesmaids Cathy Murphy, Mineral, Va., sister of the bridegroom; Ann Marie Vicki, Jessup; Linda Culp, Allentown, and Linda Tolerico, Archbald. Their matching hair clusters of silk flowers and pearl tendrils and bouquets of carnations and baby's breath complemented their dresses.
     Ann Marie Casey, Archbald, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Sho wore a tea length dress of yellow fantanza similar to the other attendants. She carried a basket of yellow flowers and wore a floral wreath of yellow silk flowers and pearl clusters.
     Dr. John Brady, Kingston, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Thomas Murphy, Mineral, Va., brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Atty. Edward Hogan, Chreey Hill, N.J; Patrick Smith, Forty Fort, and Matthew Kelly, Forty Fort.
     A 5 p.m. reception was held at Genetti Manor, Dickson City.
     The bride is a graduate of Valley View High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She is employed as a registerd nurse at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
     The bridegroom is a graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School and Wilkes College. He received his juris doctorate degree from the University of Bridegport in May.
     Following a wedding trip to Clearwater, Fla., the couple will reside at Lake Quinn, South Canaan for the summer.3.4

John graduated from at University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1941.3 John graduated from at Temple University of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1944.3 He married Anne Marie Werner on 6 November 1946 at St. Rose of Lima Church at York, York County, Pennsylvania 17400. Anne lived on Clinton Street, York, PA..1 John retired from Nazareth Hospital at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania 19092, in 1990. He resided P.O. Box 271, at Buck Hill Falls, Monroe County, Pennsylvania 18323, in 1992. John attended the First Casey Family Reunion, held on 26 September 1992 at Phillips Manor, at Cortez, Jefferson Township, Lackwanna County, Pennsylvania.4 John attended the Second Casey Family Reunion August 3, 1996 at Split Rock Resort, Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania.5 He died on 8 September 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at age 84; John Donald Casey, M.D.

A surgeon at Nazareth Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia for 40 years, Dr. Casey established a medical practice with his cousin, Paul R. Casey, and was on the staff of Nazareth, Holy Redeemer, Episcopal and Temple University hospitals and was a former clinical professor of surgery at Temple University. Dr. Casey earned a bachelor's of science degree from the University of Scranton in 1941, a medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in 1944 and completed a surgical residency at Temple in 1953. Dr. Casey served in the Navy Medical Corps in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. John D. Jr., Wyomissing, and Dr. Steven of Hatfield; five daughters, Susan Lubbers, Emmaus; Judy Stephenson, Hillsborough, Calif; Elizabeth Wonder, Vienna, Va; Dr. Anne Casey, White Plains, N.Y; and Lauren McTear, Erdenheim; two brothers, Edward and Kenneth; a sister, Loretta Hyland; 25 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Whitfield Boulevard and Van Reed Road, West Lawn.
Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
